Direct marketing is any unsolicited contact a business makes with existing or potential customers in order to generate sales and custom. It can be a very cost-effective way of marketing. Direct mail, leaflet drops, telemarketing and email are all ways of contacting customers to great effect.
Online Marketing
Search engines seek out information from the world wide web. If you enter a query or search into a search engine then you will be presented with a list of websites that are most likely to contain what you are looking for, you can then choose which site to look at.
Email Marketing
Using email to promote your goods or services can be very cost effective, it is fast and a completely paper free way to comunicate. Email promotions should be relevant and interesting to both existing and potential new customers, this is essential if you do not wish to annoy potential customers and have your emails treated as simply spam.
Public Relations
PR is how your company communicates with and is presented as, to the outside world. Good PR will make your company look better and will raise opinions of your business. Usually done by getting coverage in the media, such as on TV or in newspapers as opposed to direct advertising through billboards, TV ads and other forms of marketing.
Market Research
You can save yourself a lot of money doing research before you enter into business. You need to find out if there is a market for what you have to offer and who your market is. By finding the right people and the right customers for your service your company could make a great profit. You can only benefit from knowing as much as you can about your market and your competitors.
